Memory Ornament Exchange

Ornament exchange

I realize it’s  February and I’m writing about Christmas, but I came across these today and I had to share.

Every year my husband and I exchange a Christmas ornament. The rule is that the ornament must represent the past year in some way. Last summer we moved from Vancouver to Montreal, towing our vintage 1978, 12 foot orange trailer across the country.  So for the exchange I gave him a handmade trailer ornament to represent our trip and he gave me a fleur de lis ornament as a welcome to his home province of Quebec.  The idea is that one day our Christmas tree will be fully decorated with nothing but memories. :)

  • Mel B - Rochelle, I LOVE this idea!!!! I just may have to steal it! We do something similar, every year the kids receive a new ornament, sometimes homemade other times not & so when they move out they will have a collection already. I think this would make a wonderful addition to our family tradition.ReplyCancel
